October 02nd - January 05th
We are excited to announce the Oliver Wyman 2023 Data Challenge, a unique opportunity for North East students to showcase their data analytics skills and win university bursaries and internships.
The challenge is open now to applicants! To find out more about the challenge and submit your analysis, visit the competition website: https://impact.oliverwyman.com/data-analytics-challenge-2023/.
Applicants have until Friday 5th January 2024 to enter and winners will be announced on Thursday 22nd February.
The challenge is open to Year 13 students who attend a North East State school. Participants will have the opportunity to work on data analytics problems and develop innovative solutions. This year the challenge focuses on tackling hypothetical problems related to food waste, where applicants investigate food waste within the UK, help Newcastle’s biggest chain bakery further reduce their own food waste and support one of our clients in a potential new venture to minimize food waste within their company.
Comments from previous winners:
“Last year's challenge was an incredible experience for me. The content and analytics/data were interesting, the scenarios presented really encouraged me to think creatively and explore new tools and develop my knowledge.” Abdu
“I found the competition very rewarding as it gave me a chance to use the skills I have learnt in a real life scenario, which is not often done in the classroom. I would definitely recommend that those interested sign up as this is a rare and enriching opportunity.” James
