Explore electricity and enthuse your students with this great hands on kit, ideal for pupils in key stage 1,2 & 3.
KITS ARE RENTED ON A TERMLY BASIS AND CAN BE HIRED FOR UP TO 6 WEEKS. ONLY 2 KITS PER SCHOOL AT ANY TIME.
The Electricity kit is ideal for Key Stage 1, 2 and 3, and gives the student the opportunity to explore electricity through fun activities including:
- Identifying general appliances, which run on electricity
- Constructing a simple series circuit
- Identifying whether a lamp will light in a complete series circuit, based on a switch being closed and a battery complete in the loop.
- Identifying what difference a switch makes in a circuit when it is open or closed.
- Recognising common conductors and insulators, Children should be able to associate metals with being good conductors of electricity.
- Identifying and naming the simple parts of an electrical circuit, which includes – cells, wires, bulbs, switches and buzzers.
- Pupils should also be able to associate the brightness of a lamp or the buzzers volume with the number and voltage of cells used in the circuit.
- Children can give reasons for variations of how circuit components function. This will include the on/off position of switches, brightness of bulbs and loudness of buzzers.
